Neck Strain

Neck strain (a.k.a. whiplash) is an injury to the tendons and muscle that support and move the neck and head. Neck strains often caused by indirect trauma when the head is flung backward (hyperextension) or forward (hyperflexion).  Injuries caused by rotation and compression (when impact of strong force lands on the top of the head) can also result in neck strains and soft-tissue injury. Common symptoms of neck strain are pain and decreased range of motion.
